History
In 1951 when Japan was still in the postwar years of recovery, the
government established the education licensing system, which became
the base of today's public education system. In the following year
(in 1952), we established The College of Tokyo Judo Therapy in affiliation
with Tokyo Judo Therapy Association.
In 1970, we made a new start as the Education Department of a public-interest
corporation, Labor Insurance Association, aiming at separation and
independence of our school education. In the same year, Judo Therapist
Law was established as a single law. In 1986, we obtained a license
as an academic juridical person specialized in training and education
of Judo therapists and renamed to today's Kyobun College of Tokyo
Judo Therapy.
In June 2012, we celebrated the 60th anniversary of the founding of
The College of Tokyo Judo Therapy grandly thanks to the warm supports
extended by nearly 4253 graduates and predecessors in the Judo therapy
field.
Features
Amid great change in the social environment, we have been strictly
observed the spirit of our college, which is "development of
personality" for more than half century since 1953 when the
students entered our college for the first year of the foundation.
We have also clearly defined our three educational philosophies:
"Knowledge", "Feeling" and "Will"
based on our spirit of the school foundation. These represent our
desire that each of our students pursue "how to behave as a
man before being qualified as a Judo therapist", thus we provide
them with many opportunities to achieve their goals empirically
through the curriculums, special lectures, extracurricular activities,
etc.
In order that our students can not only pass the national licensing
examination for Judo therapist but also be the human resources required
by the society, we will further improve the learning environment
by focusing on research and development of the educational methods
and improvement of students' "human power" for developing
management ability, dealing with the information society and recognizing
international standards.
In 2003, we started the day class in addition to the conventional
evening class as the first step to improve the educational environment
to nurture the nationally-qualified personnel to build a future
of Japan.
We are looking forward to your challenge to be a Judo therapist.
